The University Of Kentucky Wildcat Basketball Encyclopedia CD ROM Read Me Text
System Requirements
1 -The University Of Kentucky Wildcat Encyclopedia CD ROM runs on the following
platforms: Windows 3.1x or Windows for Workgroups with Win32s and Windows 95
The MINIMUM platform configuration requires a 486/66 PC with 8MB of RAM
with a CD-ROM drive and an audio sound card. Your video card must be capable
of displaying 256 colors. If your run The Wildcat Basketball Encyclopedia in
color resolutions below 256 colors, the image and video color will appear distorted.
The RECOMENDED platform is a PC with a Pentium processor with 16MB of RAM.
This platform performs better when viewing multimedia applications.
2 - If you are installing under Windows 3.x.
If you are installing the Wildcat Basketball CD ROM under Windows 3.x, you must
have Video for Windows installed, if it is not installed on your computer already.
VFW is an extension to Windows that enables it to run the avi videos included on
this CD ROM. If you don't know if VFW is already on you computer it will not hurt
to install it again. You will find the VFW installation program on the Wildcat
Basketball CD ROM under the Vfw11e directory. At the end of this installation go
to the Vfw11e directory on the CD ROM disk from your file manager and double click
the setup.exe file, follow directions.
3 - If you installed Windows in a directory other than the default "C:\Windows"
directory and received the following error the first time you tried to run the UK
Wildcats Basketball CD ROM:
Run-time error '3028':
Can't start. The system database (typically SYSTEM.MDA)
is missing or opened exclusively by another user.
You must copy the file Wildcats.ini found in your currently running windows version
directory to C:\Windows.
